Summary: Twosomes is a collection of short love poems featuring cute animals. Many of the poems are very silly and simple to understand. The poems also use a lot of puns and other simple poetic devices that make this books very funny, cute, and easy to share with young readers.

Perfect student: This book is perfect for young readers who are reluctant to read poetry. It introduces poetry using short couplets that are ver y humorous. It would also be good to use around Valentine's Day.
Common Core State Standard: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.4.5 Explain major differences between poems, drama, and prose, and refer to the structural elements of poems (e.g., verse, rhythm, meter) and drama (e.g., casts of characters, settings, descriptions, dialogue, stage directions) when writing or speaking about a text.This book works well with this standard because, as a great introduction to poetry, it can be used to highlight the different type of language used in poetry.
