Summary: A young boy who is very interested in sea life disovers an underwater camera washed up on the beach. When he has the film developed, the pictures are a real shock. One of the photos is very interesting. It shows other kids holding pictures in a kind of never-ending loop, and as the boy zooms in on the photo, he realizes that each child in the photo goes further and further back in time. He snaps a photo of himself to add to the colection and feleases the camera back into the ocean for another child to find.

Media for illustration: Watercolor

Perfect student: This book is perfect for studens interested in the sea, nature, or photography. The images in this wordless picture book are somewhat complex, but it would be good for young and ESL readers alike, as well as older students.

Common Core State Standard: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.1.7 Use the illustrations and details in a text to describe its key ideas. This standard is for first grade, but I believe there are similar standards in other elementary grades as well and probably even higher grades. This standard works well with this book because the illustrations are award-winning.
