Summary: The Wolf who Cried boy is a classic tale turned upside down. A young wolf is tired of eating his mother's cooking, and he wants some Boy for dinner. His father tells him that if he ever sees a boy in the woods, his parents would go catch it and cook it for dinner. The little wolf doesn't see a boy, but he decides to trick his parents into checking the woods, making them miss dinner and his mom's cooking. After playing the trick a few times, his parents no longer believe him, and when a real, live boy comes right into their cave, the little wolves parents won't even look.

Perfect student: This book is perfect for students who enjoy animals, fairytales, or nature. It's also good for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts.
Common Core State Standard: CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.5.2Determine a theme of a story, drama, or poem from details in the text, including how characters in a story or drama respond to challenges or how the speaker in a poem reflects upon a topic; summarize the text. This text works well with this standard because fractured fairytales are familiar stories with small changes, so students will be able to pinpoint specific differences to help them determine the new theme and the story has a definitive beginning, middle, and end.
